Right Quote Words can not describe how grateful I am to Dr. Lee for saving my face and honestly I would say my life. She's an absolute master and genius at what she does. I wouldn't even be able to show my face in public now if it weren't for her. I had the worst scars on my face that were so bad they scared other people. These scars were caused by a doctor who burned my face with a laser. I would have been happy just looking a little better but Dr. Lee was able to make my face look almost normal again. I can cover most of what's left with make-up now and most people can't tell what had happened to me. I still have internal scars from what that other doctor did but at least the outside scars are pretty much gone. I wish I had never had to go thru all this but I'm just grateful that there was someone like Dr. Lee who could help me get my face back. Right Quote

Right Quote Absolutely the best results. I wish I had gone to her first instead of wasting my money with no-nothing nurses are doctors who talk a good game but are merely dabblers. I got the results I needed and now look 15 years younger. She is a miracle worker! Right Quote

Right Quote She's the best doctor!

Dr. Lee treated my moles and also the moles on my 2 young girls with laser. They were very scared but Dr. Lee did a great job getting them to trust her. She was very patient and kind. AFter the first time, my daughters thought it was no big deal and were no longer scared. She did a great job removing the moles and we're all so happy! I wouldn't trust anyone else to treat me or my family. She's the best! Right Quote

Right Quote The only doctor who helped my rosacea

I have really bad rosacea and sensitive skin and haven't been able to find any doctor who can help me...that is, until I found Dr. M. Christine Lee. I've seen several other very well-known derms and spent tons of money trying to get my rosacea under control. I've had fotofacials, IPL, VBeam, you name it, I've had it. Nothing has really made a difference. I almost gave up until I found out about Dr. Lee from the online rosacea support group. I heard great things about a laser procedure she developed. I started seeing her over a year ago and have gone thru several treatments and I am THRILLED!!!! I feel like a normal person for the first time in my life. No more redness and burning. Her treatment has been a miracle for me. All I can say is THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Right Quote

I just LOOOOVE Latisse! All my patients love it--it’s great finally having a new product that really does what it’s supposed to and does it well! I can barely keep enough stocked on the shelves. I know it works because everyone keeps coming back for more and I get to see their super long eyelashes. If you’re considering starting Latisse, I will match any printed price that you bring in from any other office in the Bay Area.
For those who have read my book, the fractional CO2 wasn’t available yet at the time I published my book...so here’s a free update! For removing wrinkles, it would be the next best thing to getting full CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser resurfacing which is the gold standard (but has the major downside of long healing time and great discomfort) . I gave the CO2 laser an A+ for wrinkle removal. The fractional CO2 gets an A or A-. It is by far the most popular procedure in my practice for removing wrinkles and turning back the clock because it’s far less painful than CO2 and heals much faster and yet still delivers great results! Now the confusing part is there’s many different companies making different brands of fractional CO2 lasers and they are NOT the same! The best fractional CO2 laser is made by Lumenis and they have two different types: ActiveFX and DeepFX. ActiveFX works better for wrinkles, and DeepFX works better for acne scarring. Combining the 2 lasers is called “TotalFX” and achieves better results together than either alone. Lumenis is the leader in CO2 technology and has the best CO2 laser on the market. It makes sense that they would make the best fractional CO2 laser as well. There’s another fractional CO2 laser called the Re:pair by Reliant (which was bought over by Thermage and now the company is called Solta). Reliant makes the original Fraxel (now called the Restore--there is also a “lighter” version called the Refine which was designed for the less experienced practitioner to use) which I gave a C in my book. The new Re:pair by Reliant (now Solta) would get a B+ rating. So, an update to my book would be as follows:

For wrinkles, the effectiveness of lasers are as follows:

CO2 > ActiveFX (fractional CO2 by Lumenis) > Re:pair (fractional CO2 by Solta) > Erbium:YAG > Fraxel Restore > Fraxel Refine > NLite or CoolTouch or other nonablative lasers

The lasers that are most effective in removing wrinkles all cause an injury to the skin (ablative or invasive)--the difference is in how deep or severe the injury is. The worse the injury, the longer the downtime and also the corresponding pain, the better the results. (No pain, no gain!)

The effectiveness of lasers for removing wrinkles also corresponds to degree of injury:

CO2 > ActiveFX (fractional CO2 by Lumenis) > Re:pair (fractional CO2 by Solta) > Erbium:YAG > Fraxel Restore > Fraxel Refine > NLite or CoolTouch or other nonablative lasers

Another thing to consider is that the ActiveFX has great flexibility and range--I can turn it down for people who are extremely pain-phobic or I can turn it up for people who want the most bang for their buck. I can also target deeper lines (ie: around the mouth) more aggressively while still maintaining relatively short downtime for the rest of the face. Conversely, the Re:pair is much more limited. You can turn the ActiveFX down but you can’t turn the Re:pair up. There is no laser cosmetic surgeon who can consider him or herself a serious affecionado of the art and science of rejuvenation without being an expert in CO2 laser resurfacing and now the ActiveFX and DeepFX are a necessary component of that armamentarium. It is what separates the true experts from the amateurs and dabblers and wannabes.
What is Latisse™?

Cosmetic Dermatologist Walnut Creek - LatisseLatisse (bimatoprost) is a topical prescription product from Allergan (the makers of Botox and Juvederm), is approved by the FDA to stimulate eyelashes to grow longer and thicker. It is only available through medical providers.

Latisse has been available for many years as a prescription eye drop to treat glaucoma. It was discovered to also stimulate eyelash growth in patients who were using it. Although the exact mechanism of action is not fully understood, Latisse™ appears to increase not only the number of hairs during the growth phase but also the duration of the growth phase; producing longer, thicker, darker lashes.

How do I use Latisse™?

Latisse™ is applied each night after you cleanse your skin of all facial products. Contact lenses must also be removed. Place one drop of Latisse™ on a Latisse™ applicator and apply to base of lashes, just like you would eyeliner. Dispose of the applicator and repeat process on the opposite eyelid. Contact lenses may be reinserted 15 minutes after application. Its that quick and easy!

How long before I see results?

Patients may start seeing results as early as four weeks with full results occurring at 16 weeks. The results are gradual over time.

What will happen if I stop using Latisse™?

If you stop using Latisse™ it is expected that your lashes will return to their pre-treatment appearance over several weeks to months.

What are the possible side effects of Latisse™?

The most common side effects associated with Latisse™ are itching and/or eye redness (approximately 4% patients). Other less common side effects may include eye irritation or dryness, redness of the eyelids and skin darkening at the area where Latisse™ is applied (lash line).

Who should not use Latisse™?

You should not use Latisse™ if you are allergic to one of its ingredients (bimatoprost, benzalkonium chloride, sodium chloride, sodium phosphate, dibasic, citric acid, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid), or if you have an active eye condition (including an eye infection) or broken, irritated skin on your eyelid. Your free consultation with our medical provider at Sculptured Youth can help you decide if Latisse™ is right for you.

Is Latisse™ safe?

Latisse™ is FDA approved to be safe and effective in the treatment of hypotrichosis (inadequate or not enough eyelashes). The FDA reviewed clinical study results to verify the identity, potency, purity, and stability of the ingredients, and demonstrated that the product is safe and effective for its intended use when used as prescribed to grow longer thicker darker eyelashes.

How can I get Latisse™?

Latisse™ is a prescriptive medication available only through medical providers. Book your appointment now to see if Latisse™ is right for you.
