Bay area patients discover the CO2 laser for skin resurfacing
As the author of “The Best Skin Ever:
Lasers” and a laser and scientific committee advisor, Dr. Christine Lee
excels in laser procedures. At The East Bay Laser & Skin Care
Center, Inc., Bay area patients are in the hands of one of the best
physicians for fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing.
What is a CO2 laser?
A carbon dioxide (CO2) laser was one of the first gas lasers
used, and is still the highest power continuous wave laser available.
For skin resurfacing treatments, the laser removes the outermost layer
of damaged skin to reveal the smoother, younger looking skin underneath.
This laser produces effects similar to a chemical peel or
microdermabrasion; however, skin is removed without the use of harsh
chemicals or a sanding device.
Utilizing the Lumenis CO2 laser, Dr. Lee is equipped with
advanced technology for fractional skin resurfacing. While being
powerful, it is also one of the safest lasers available. The Lumenis
laser utilizes short pulses of heat combined with a cooling sensation
for patient comfort and safety. A topical anesthetic can be used if
needed.
Advantages of using a CO2 laser for resurfacing
Fractional lasers are gentle enough to treat the delicate
skin around the eyes and mouth while powerful enough to treat thicker
skin along the forehead and cheeks. CO2 lasers have been used to treat
the following facial problem areas:
- Deep wrinkles
- Skin textural changes due to sun damage
- Skin blotchiness
- Acne and surgical scars
- Scars from trauma
At The East Bay Laser & Skin Care Center, Inc. in the Bay area, Dr. Christine Lee uses CO2 lasers to reverse the signs of aging. As an expert in lasers, you can trust you are in good hands. To schedule your comprehensive consultation with Dr. Lee, call (925) 528-0117.
