Pain Control with Pronox

Cosmetic treatments and options for rejuvenating your skin have come a long way in recent years. Though they provide better results than ever before, some cosmetic therapies can cause discomfort and anxiety for patients due to the use of lasers or small needles. That’s why Dr. Christine Lee at The Skin and Laser Treatment Institute in Walnut Creek, CA has invested in PRO-NOX™ nitrous oxide delivery system. With PRO-NOX, Dr. Lee can provide effective pain control and enable patients to benefit from the remarkable skin treatments available without needing to deal with fear or anxiety about the procedure.

Pain Control with Pro Nox, Walnut Creek

How PRO-NOX works

The PRO-NOX system uses a pneumatic gas mixer that delivers a 50 percent nitrous oxide and 50 percent oxygen mixture to patients who have pain or anxiety during their treatments. Patients simply inhale the analgesic through a face mask when they feel that they need it, and it starts working within seconds to provide immediate relief. The thing patients love most about PRO-NOX is that they are in control – it is self-administered, and you can adjust how much you use based on how you are feeling during the treatment. The system is easy to use, but we will walk you through how to use it, so you are confident in adjusting your dose.

When it is no longer needed, the gas clears from the patient’s body within a matter of minutes (usually ten minutes or less). That means that you can drive yourself home or back to work after your treatment and then continue with your day as usual, with no downtime or limitations due to the use of the nitrous oxide mixture.

PRO-NOX can be used during any procedure in which the pain and discomfort may affect your experience. Common treatments during which PRO-NOX may be used include, among others:

  • Laser tattoo removal
  • Ultherapy
  • Thermage
  • Sclerotherapy
  • Injectables such as neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin) or dermal fillers (Juvéderm, Restylane, and others)
  • Microneedling
  • Laser facial treatments
  • Liposuction

PRO-NOX safety

Our patients’ safety is at the forefront of everything we do at The Skin and Laser Treatment Institute. PRO-NOX has been proven to be safe and effective, uses a non-addictive gas, and has been used for many years globally. In fact, the mixing technology used in PRO-NOX makes it one of the safest nitrous oxide treatment options available. Since it is used through a personal nose mask, it minimizes the chances of infection that can be associated with needle-based numbing agents and is used in a variety of medical settings – including birthing centers, hospitals, and cosmetic dermatology practices.  PRO-NOX nitrous oxide reviews by patients and providers alike are positive because it improves the patient’s experience during their treatment. When the patient is relaxed, they are less likely to be jumpy or jittery during procedures that require precision, such as injectable treatments, which can lead to better end results.

PRO-NOX price

Using PRO-NOX during your procedure adds a nominal fee to your total. Dr. Lee and her team can discuss the cost of the treatment with you in advance, so you are aware of the total price.
